Programme Overview

This is a training course that requires open discussion.  Attendees are requested to bring samples of the data they use in their daily tasks, be prepared to discuss what they perceive as deficiencies in their data, and openly discuss what practical steps they can take to remediate these deficiencies.

During the first session, delegates will learn the importance of the following: a corporate dictionary, what is meant by an Identification Guide, the correct way to compose a quality identifier, and adding values and units of measure to create master data records.  Delegates will also learn the difference between data and information, how to specify requirements for data, and current trends in cataloguing.  Once delegates have covered the theory, they will focus on examples of descriptions of goods or services and learn how to deconstruct them to evaluate their quality. Delegates will complete day one of the programme with a clear understanding of how to identify the gaps in their data, how to develop a concrete action plan, as well as how to work with their data supply chain  in order to obtain and validate data. Delegates will learn industry best practices and how to modify existing habits and procedures to incorporate these practices.

On the morning and early afternoon of the second day, delegates will cover the syllabus of the ISO 8000 Master Data Quality Manager (MDQM) programme and, later in the afternoon, delegates will complete the ECCMA MDQM examination.

The ECCMA MDQM examination is an online test of approximately sixty (60) multiple choice questions. Upon successful completion of the test, delegates will be certified by ECCMA as ISO 8000 Master Data Quality Managers. The certificate is valid for one-year and can be renewed by taking the online test on or before the renewal date.

Benefits

Class size is limited to five (5) delegates per instructor in order to allow delegates to work with a dedicated personal instructor throughout the course.

Delegates will learn to apply the principles of quality data to their own daily tasks.

Delegates will have the opportunity to obtain an ECCMA ISO 8000 Master Data Manager (MDQM) certification and become part of the ECCMA certified data quality manager network.
